ARM SCULPTING · SHOULDERS · CHEST

Ten minutes and your arms are shaking.

A weighted ball orbits the ring and pulls against you from a new direction every fraction of a second. Your arms, shoulders and chest stay under load for the whole set, because there is no bottom of the rep to rest at.

Why it burns faster than it looks

Continuous load, not repetitions

Nothing to rest against

A dumbbell has a bottom of the rep. An orbit does not. The ball pulls from a new direction every fraction of a second, so your arms and shoulders stay switched on from the first turn to the last.

Three positions, three targets

Out in front loads the shoulders. Wide to the side opens the chest and hits the rear delts. Tucked in close works the forearms. One tool, no plates to change, ten minutes.

You can see yourself fading

The ball shifts colour as you speed up, and the ring counts your rotations and time. The moment your tempo drops is visible before it is felt, which is usually the moment people quit early.

Drive it yourself

What a set actually looks like

Drag the tempo. The ring is drawn at its real 7.68 by 6.69 inches, and the ball shifts colour through its bands the way it does in your hand.

The trainer with its weighted ball in orbit A ring 7.68 inches wide and 6.69 inches tall with one weighted ball circling it on a flexible band. The ball changes colour as the tempo rises. 120

Arm extended at chest height. The orbit pulls against the shoulder through the whole circle, which is the shoulder training position in the manufacturer's own material.

The display on the ring cycles through three modes with the MODE button: total rotations, total rotation time, and an estimated calorie figure. The rotation figures above are arithmetic on the tempo you set here, not a claim about the device.

What people ask before buying

It trains the muscles in your arms, shoulders and chest under continuous load, and that is what builds tone and definition in them.

What no handheld device can do is decide where your body loses fat. Visible definition is the muscle underneath plus your overall body composition, and the second half of that comes down to diet and total activity rather than any one tool. Anyone selling you a gadget that burns fat off one specific limb is selling you something.

Not maximum strength. There is no resistance to increase, so it will not add pounds to a lift. What it builds is muscular endurance and control, which is a different thing and worth being straight about before you buy.

For about a session, yes. The orbit has to be started deliberately with a turn of the wrist, and it stalls if you stop driving it. Most people find the rhythm inside the first ten minutes, but it is not a product that works in the first thirty seconds.

The grip ring is a fixed size and does not adjust. The whole unit is 7.68 in across. If you have a large span, measure against that before ordering. This is the most common fit complaint on products of this shape and we would rather you check than return it.

Batteries, not a charging cable — one button cell and three AAAs. There is nothing to plug in, nothing to remember to charge, and no app to set up.

Treat it as a rough relative measure rather than a number to plan around. The device estimates from rotation count and knows nothing about your body weight or effort. It is useful for comparing one of your sessions to another, not for tracking a deficit.

It is a moving mechanical part on a flexible band, so it is not silent. We have not measured it and will not quote a decibel figure we cannot stand behind. If you share a quiet office, assume it is noticeable.

Thirty days to return it. If the fit is wrong or the motion is not what you expected, send it back.
